Computer: Packard Bell ( Intel Celeron 500MHz , 192MB SDRAM) .
Troubleshooting Guide.

Flaws and Vulnerabilities:-
Problem:-
- CD-ROM is not connected.
Reason: Windows XP cannot detect CD-ROM.
Solution: Reinstall/Repair Windows XP.
2. There is no display in MS-DOS mode using a ATI Radeon 9200SE display card.
Reason: The ATI Radeon 9200SE are not compatible with Gigabyte motherboard.
Solution: Take out the ATI Radeon 9200SE display card out from the motherboard.
3. Cannot boot up Windows XP Professional , sometimes it freeze
and have errors.
Reason: 1. Windows XP Professional is corrupted.
2. There are incompatible ATI Radeon 9200SE display card on the motherboard that would not allowed Windows XP Professional to boot up.
Solution: 1.Reinstall/Repair Windows XP Professional.
2. Take out the ATI Radeon 9200SE display card from the motherboard to allow booting Windows XP Professional.
4. Windows sometimes hang.
Reason: Windows XP Professional is corrupted.
Solution: Reinstall/Repair Windows XP Professional
5. There is a poor picture on Hauppage WinTV with no color.
Reason: Poor TV reception.
Solution: Must have a very high antenna!!....I did not do it anyway…
6. There is a buzzy sound on the speaker.
Reason: Hardware problem - The ATI Radeon 9200SE display card.
Solution: Take out the ATI Radeon 9200SE display card from the motherboard.
7. There is no option in BIOS settings when go to BIOS.
Reason: The BIOS is corrupt or there is a harware problem.
Solution: No solution.
8 Cannot shut down Windows XP Professional SP2 after installing windows update.
Reason: Don’t know.
Solution: Don’t install windows update…..I think….
9. Cannot save desktop background picture.
Reason: Don’t know.
Solution: No solution.
10. There is no wireless network connection icon in the task bar.
Reason: Don’t know.
Solution: Have to reboot the computer and restart it.
11. Windows XP Professional SP2 cannot shut down. (Hang).
Reason: The user switch on the welcome screen.
You have East Asian Language support installed on your Windows XP- based computer and the Input Method Editor (IME) selected as your default input language.Microsoft claim that this is a problem in Microsoft product applies to Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. (Microsoft Bugs ).
Solution: Install the latest windows service pack.
(The problem was first corrected in Windows XP Service Pack 1).

2. Wireless Router Prolink WGR1004.
Troubleshooting Guide.

Flaws and Vulnerabilities:-
Problem:
1. There is no network available in taskbar or the network is disconnected.
Reason: The band signal is weak.
Solution: 1.Adjust the antenna of the wireless router back and forth.
2. Repair the connection.
2. Cannot browse Internet or webpage on the Internet although the network is
connected.
Reason: The ISP is down.
Solution: Wait for the ISP to up again.
3. There is a hardware error while ping or tracert a site/IP address.
Reason: The ISP is down.
Solution: Wait for the ISP to up again.
4. Cannot ping a site / IP address.
Reason: The computer has a firewall or is down.
Solution: Try ping again later.
5. Cannot save WEP/WPE security key or key features.
Reason: Hardware router Prolink problem.
Solution: Cannot do anything.
6. Prolink Router cannot detect DHCP client table or IP addresses after it been reboot. There is none DHCP table. It can only detect 1 IP address after several hours , but cannot detect other IP address.
Reason: Don’t’ know.
Solution: Cannot do anything.
7. Cannot enter Prolink router password after save password.
Reason: Don’t know. Maybe hardware problem.
Solution: Don’t save router password. Let it without a password as a defaul
8. There is no network connection on the WAN or the internet. There is no IP address , subnet mask and default gateway on the internet connection on the Prolink router. The internet connection is down.
Reason: Hardware problem ( Router Bugs ).
Solution: Reboot the Prolink router. ( Switch it off and on again ).
Computer: Intel Pentium 3 450MHz.
Flaws and vulnerabilities:-
1. Cannot detect second hardisk as a slave. The BIOS cannot switch to slave hardisk and cannot boot using the slave.
Reason: Motherboard bugs.
Solution: No solution.
2. Cannot enter BIOS setup when using a USB keyboard.
Reason: Motherboard bugs.
Solution: No solution. Must use the original keyboard that uses the keyboard port on the motherboard. Only this way user can enter the BIOS setup.
Computer: Packard Bell ( Intel Celeron 500MHz , 128MB SDRAM) .
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-6WMM7.
Operating System: Linux Red Hat 9 Professional. ( Kernel 2.4.20.8)
Flaws and vulnerabilities:-
1. The Linux Red Hat 9 Professional cannot enter the X- Window System , resulting the operating system to shutting down all of its services and Linux Red Hat shuts down. This happen when a user tried to log in using the KDE desktop environment.
Notes :- Before that , user had install Red Hat Linux 9 Professional using the full installation for a server , with the KDE Desktop Environment.
Reason: Don’t know. Maybe the KDE have bugs.
Solution: No solution. Have to install Red Hat 9 Professional without the KDE to make it work.
